The region around the city of Mainz is located on the western left bank of the Rhine. The countryside is characterized by rolling hills and tended vineyards. The three towns Wiesbaden Frankfurt and Mainz form a big centre in Rhine Main area. This region is also called the "German Tuscany" - since it rivals the Italian region with its wonderful landscape and also its wines.
