Wonderful japanese influenced architecture
In 1720 August the Strong planned together with his architect the castle and park of Pillnitz. 100 years later it was completed. In former times guests living in Dresden took a gondola upstream to celebrate parties at Pillnitz Castle.
An extensive park with wonderful flowerbeds, winding paths and idyllically hidden pavilions… A Japanese camellia of nine meter height which was brought to Europe more than 200 years ago, is with its crown of today 12 meters diameter a botanical rarity.
Concerts and parties are not only staged in summer in this marvellous surrounding.
