Cottbus
Cottbus
Town of the "nice small houses" in the middle of Europe.

A town in the middle of Europe, but still something very special. In Cottbus locals still speak the Slavic language Sorbian, in which Cottbus means as much as "nice small houses". And that is exactly what makes the atmosphere in Cottbus so unique: old walls of many monuments testify to the history of town - elegant mansions, baroque buildings and historically significant churches.

Small alleys in the Old Town make Cottbus a comfortable place which invites stroll around or rest in a café. If you love culture, you can visit the State Theatre, a building in the late Art Noveau style.

Fürst-Pückler Park Branitz is one of the nicest scenery park ensembles in Europe and shows some magnificent and unique earth pyramids. In nice weather a journey with the stagecoach will make a visit to Cottbus unforgettable.
