Oberlausitz
Oberlausitz
A marvellous region offering wonderful experiences.

Oberlausitz is a multifaceted region much favoured by lovers of nature and culture.

Tourists looking for a wonderful nature experience will be fascinated by the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, landscapes dominated by heath and ponds, the Nature Reserve Zittau Mountains and the Lausitz Lake District. Among many bicycle and hiking trails the Oberlausitz Mountain Trail, the Spree Bicycle Trail and the Oder-Neisse Bicycle Trail are the nicest.

Those interested in culture should visit the cities of Zittau, Bautzen and Kamenz. Further worth seeing Berg Oybin Castle and Abbey. We also recommend a trip with the old steam locomotive. The nicest baroque building in Saxony is Rammenau Palace, an attractive destination for visitors from near and far. People interested in old regional craftsmanship like weaving, blue printing, pottering and gingerbread baking can attend workshops.
