Country of rivers Donau and Regen
Ostbayern is a region which was established right after World War II in order to include the districts of Niederbayern with its capital Landshut and the district Oberpfalz with its capital Regensburg. Ostbayern has common borders with Czechia and Austria.
Ostbayern is dominated by the plains of the rivers Donau, Regen, Inn and Isar, and also calls parts of the Bayerische Wald (Bavarian Forest) and the Oberpfalz Forest its own. Also the Main-Donau-Canal leads through this region.
