With 23,000 students who learn, teach, research and work at the University of Bremen it is one of eleven universities who can be called Excellency University. It is known for sciences and engineering as well as social sciences and humanities.

Close collaboration with numerous research institutes on the campus and in the region gained the university an excellent quality in research. The university’s known competence has attracted many research facilities and enterprises to the technology park all around the campus. Thus an important location for high-tech has elaborated here where today more than 400 companies and scientific institutions are settled.
