It does not always have to be big and crowded! Small universities might even be better. Studying far away of metropolises can be worthwhile. HIS Hochschul-Informations-System GmbH and the AG university research of the university of Constance questioned in 2007 around 22,000 students of 150 colleges for their "study quality monitor 2007". The result was astonishing: Half of the university students and one fifth of FH students felt affected in learning by crowded lectures; they wished for better care and feedback by their lecturers. The result was unmistaken: Studying terms are best at small advanced technical colleges and are worst at big universities.

One of these small universities is Biberach University of Applied Sciences. With only 2400 students, 75 professors and 150 employees it is a living university with informal character. Nevertheless it is leading in Germany in its area! Biberach University of Applied Sciences has been awarded at several occasions first place in university ranking lists. Best practice in Biberach!
