Flörsheimer Watchtower
Flörsheimer Watchtower

The watchtower "Flörsheimer Warte" was built anew in 1996 according to historic plans

"Flörsheimer Warte", a former watchtower, was once one of four similar watchtowers built to secure the villages Flörsheim, Hochheim, Kastel and Kostheim belonging to the bishop of Mainz, at the same time Electoral Prince of the German Empire.

Being rebuilt in 1996 close to plans stemming from the 15th century, it now harbours a restaurant much liked throughout the region, drawing visitors from as far away as Frankfurt, Wiesbaden, Mainz and Darmstadt. It´s simply lovely to sit at the tables amongst the vineyards on a sunny summer day and sample the wine produced right here each autumn.
