Wutach Gorge was declared nature reserve in 1939
On 30 km length the up to 170 metre deep gorges of the river Wutach turn scenery between Lenzkirch and Blumberg into a gorgeous sight. Because of its manifold wildlife the Wutach Gorge was in 1939 declared nature reserve.
The gorge is in such a height that it has positive remedial-climatic effect on our body’s heart and circulation. Natural hiking trails lure many visitors to the gorge. However nearby paragliding, golf, mountain biking and cross country skiing are possible as well. On both banks of the Wutach you can find many idyllic small villages. In many museums you can trace back history until Celtic and Roman times.
