All of East Thuringia impresses with more than thousand years of history. It’s impossible to be overlooked: In the cities of Gera, Greiz and Altenburg history is still alive, which makes this region particularly suitable for short trips. Along the „Prussian Princes‘ Road“ you can see many palaces and parks worth a visit.

However, the pretty little villages embedded in nice scenery should’nt be disregarded neither. While the east of Thuringia is rather flat, the foothills of the Vogtland bring welcome change into the scenery.
