Middle Upper Rhine Valley
Middle Upper Rhine Valley
The Rhine Valley – the warmest region in Germany

The Middle Upper Rhine Valley is one of the 12 regions of Baden-Württemberg and includes the cities Baden-Baden and Karlsruhe as well as the rural districts Karlsruhe and Rastatt. The western border is marked by the river Rhine for about 80 kilometres; two of the neighbours of this region are the French Alsace and the German Pfalz. In the east, the region is dominated by the level lowland of the Rhine, followed by the small hills of the Kraichgau. In the south the Black Forest changes the scenery.
