"Sparrowgras", wine and bread...

#EnjoyGermanFood: next year, global sales and marketing activities of the German National Tourist Board (GNTB) across different media will focus on the country’s culinary offer.

In order to streamline marketing efforts for the themed campaign “Culinary Germany” and increase efficiency, GNTB and the German Wine Institute (DWI) have signed a cooperation agreement. In the course of the themed campaign, GNTB and DWI, as premium partners, will be in charge of coordinating a wide range of activities in a number of designated key markets.

In the spring of 2018, GNTB will stage food truck events showcasing asparagus, wine and bread in a number of stylish outdoor locations. DWI will professionally support these events with wine tastings as well as presentations from sommeliers and wine princesses and queens.

GNTB’s film project “Follow the Taste” will showcase signature regional specialties from Germany’s 16 federal states, including suggestions for suitable wine companions. These films, presented by renowned food and wine experts, will be featured on the campaign’s landing page from the beginning of 2018. In addition, they will be used during events abroad. Wine-related topics such as wine recipes, wine hikes and famous vineyard sites will become an integral part of social media communication. DWI will also make relevant contributions to the programmes of GNTB’s press trips.

Upon the signing of the cooperation agreement, Petra Hedorfer, chairwoman of the board at GNTB, stated: “The quality products from Germany’s 13 wine-growing regions and the deep roots that wine culture has in these places are hallmarks of Germany as a tourist destination. Many years of excellent cooperation experience with DWI will generate additional impetus for our themed campaign.”

DWI’s chairwoman Monika Reule adds: “Cooperating with GNTB and its international network provides us with new perspectives for the marketing of German wines. Thus we may access new markets and target groups.”
