Hesse / Rhein-Main Region / WiesbadenIts new name sounds modern, but this should not mislead you. Wiesbadens best-known hotel can look back to 528 years of documented history, since its name was recorded first way back in 1486. The building next to the thermal spring “Kochbrunnen” first was used as a bath. At the beginning of the 19th century the “Schwarzer Bock” had 47 rooms. In one of them Dostoyevsky wrote parts of his novel “The Gambler”. Since 1995 the hotel is being managed by Radisson BLU. Its “Dostojewski-Bar” was awarded “most beautiful bar in Hesse” in 2007. The hotel now has 142 rooms and suites and also its very own thermal spring with a temperature of 36 degrees Celsius.
