Why are you a GermanyFan?

I am a fan of Germany because Germany always inspires anew. There are unbelievable regions to be found from the North Sea and the Baltic Sea right down to Bavaria. From Sylt to Rottach-Egern you can find nature and hospitality in perfection. Germany has an amazing history. It is secure and very tidy, and it´s made in Germany!

 

What is you relation with Germany?

It is the country I am born, Wiesbaden is the place I was born in. Wiesbaden´s Tennis & Hockey Club was my first sports club. I am proud to have participated at Olympic Games and World Cups for my country, and to hear our National Anthem always gave me a big motivation.

 

Which region in Germany do you like most?

There are actually two regions, first of all Bavaria an in the second place Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, because it is the place where the most beautiful German hotel is located: The Grand Hotel Heiligendamm, known all over the world for the G8 Summit.

 

Which town in Germany do you like most of all?

Again there are to towns to be mentioned: First of all Munich and in the second place Hamburg. Both offer such a rich diversity!

 

Which sights should be visited in Germany by all means?

  1. Rhein River
  2. Cathedral in Cologne
  3. Neuschwanstein Palace
  4. The mountain top „Zugspitze“
  5. Berlin and the history of the former GDR
  6. Bräustüberl on lake Tegernsee

 

 

What makes Germany special as a travelling destination?

The hospitality of its people! The openness towards all languages and nations. We learned from our past mistakes, at least I hope so! Germany offers an amazing culture and a variety of regional cuisines. The beer, which is the best in the world!

 

What is „typical German“ for you?

Punctuality and the love for detail.

 

How many times did you make holiday in Germany?

During the time I lived in Mallorca for ten summers we had our summer holidays at lake Tegernsee or on the island of Sylt.

 

What comes into your mind when you think of Germany?

My familiy and the rich diversity of food.

 

What do you like most about Germany?

The various regions with the diverse impressions they offer.

 

Which German dish/beverage do you like most?

Schweinebraten (roasted pork) and a Tegernseer Helles (special beer of light colour from Tegernsee).

 

Which German dialect to you like most?

The Bavarian dialect and the Saxonian which is fun to imitate!

 

What would you like to experience during your next holiday in Germany?

A rafting tour on river Isar near Munich.
