Germans are well-known as “world champions” in holiday trips. Less known, but still true is the fact that Germany is a very attractive holiday destination itself. And increasingly so, because in 2013 Germany once again attained a new all-time-record with 410 hotel nights booked.

The increase compared to the year before may not be very high with just 1 percent, but on the other hand this was the fourth record in a row – with most of the growth generated by visitors from abroad.

No wonder that an ever increasing number of people from all over the world show interest in Germany. The country in the midst of Central Europe does not only offer two seas – the North Sea and the Baltic – along with lovely undulating, hilly landscapes in the centre, lakes, rivers and the Alps, but also innumerable attractive events, shows and concerts and a cuisine which is still much better than its fame. Not to mention more than thousand different breads, more than thousand different beers and a vast multitude of distinct wine provenience you will not be able to taste in one life´s time.

Almost everybody has heard about the famous German “carnival” or the biggest beer festival of the world, the famous “Oktoberfest”. But Germany´s real fascinating appeal is hidden in thousands of details: You simply won´t be able to count all the parish fairs, street festivals, fairs, knight festivals, concerts and shows which are organised and presented even in the smallest and remotest villages far off the beaten track.

Real fans of Germany enjoy to discover their “own” wine festival, chestnut festival, jazz festival, town quarter festival, annual fair or another example of the attractive events taking place all over the country mostly but not only in summer. You can be sure to be made welcome to all of these events!

This is what 71.6 millions of visitors must have experienced in the years before, because their “word of mouth” is the most important incentive for new people to visit Germany in ever increasing numbers.
